Aitken Spence Apparels – Field Visit

The “Pre Bio Med batch 03” students of Asian Institute of Business and Science visited Aitken Spense Group, Mathugama on the 22nd of November 2019.

The students were able to expose the entire process of Aitken Spense in terms of procurement, productions, quality control and overall operations. It was totally a new and wonderful experience for the students. 

INSPIRE 2019

INSPIRE 2019 a free Career Guidance Seminar for after A/L students which was held on 21st of September at Sri Lanka Foundation Institute with the participation of over 150 Students. The focus of the event was to guide them on the career pathways and opportunities and this is an event which team AIBS organize to cater the best opportunities for our youth to move up the ladder. Session was enriched with the guest speeches from Experts in the industry as they explained students about highly demanded career pathways in the fields of Business & Management.

Biomedical Career Day 2019

Our Biomedical Career Day 2019, which was a free Career Guidance Seminar, was held on the 14th of September, 2019 at the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka Auditorium. The event saw over 200 candidates connect with key industrial experts and discover the many opportunities available in varied fields including Medicine and Biomedical Science. The event was graced by Professor Niroshini Nirmalan, Academic Lead in Biomedicine and Chair in Biomolecular Science at the University of Salford UK, as she addressed on “Career opportunities in Biomedical Science & Thinking outside the Box”. Session was enriched with the guest speeches from Experts in the industry as they explained students highly demanded career pathways in Biomedical Sciences.

All participants were offered special benefits for their enrollment at AIBS, for the AIBS BTEC HND in Applied Biology.

EDEX Mid Year Expo 2019

Asian Institute of Business & Science participated the EDEX Mid Year Expo 2019 on 7th & 8th September, at Sri Lanka Exhibition & Convention Centre (SLECC).

The Event provided and opened up various opportunities to interact with the participants and guide them to create diverse options.

Breaking Boundaries and Reaching for the Stars

Prof. Niroshini Nirmalan (MBBS, M.Sc, PHD), Chair in Biomolecular Sciences, Academic head for Biomedicine form University of Salford, UK conducted a guest lecture at AIBS on 19th August 2019.

The Session mainly concerned on personality development, career development and to drive the life towards success. It was an interactive, enriching experience to all the students and staff of AIBS.

Pre Biomed Programme – Intake August 2019

Pre Biomed Programme Second Intake was inaugurated on 5th of August 2019 with the presence of Mr. Hiran De Silva (Director/CEO – Asian Institute of Business & Science). Pre Biomed Programme was designed as a preparatory program for students who are planning to do their higher studies in Life Sciences.

During the Pre Biomed Program Students will be going through a comprehensive theoretical & practical learning targeting the core subjects of Biomedical Science and the learning experience will be further enhanced by the industrial visits to the leading organizations in the industry.

CSR Initiative – Ananda College

Unit 7 (Local A/Ls): Molecular Biology & Recombinant DNA Technology:

This session was developed by the Senior Lecturer Miss. Varuni Vindya in order to provide the necessary theoretical and practical knowledge in the given area for students facing the advanced level examination under the targeted syllabuses with enough knowledge and understanding. This session was not only developed to prepare them for the upcoming exams but also to develop an interest towards the current researches & developments in Molecular Biology, since it has been one of the highly demanding areas in the industry.

Stress Management & Positive attitude to Success in Education and Life:

The session was developed by Dr. Chamara De Zoysa, Head of Academics at AIBS Campus. The examination success directly linked with the positive attitude and the individual ability to manage stress. The session at Ananda College provided a platform for the students to understand the techniques to manage their stress and develop a positive attitude towards success.

Lumiere 2018

Lumiere 2018, an event organized by the student council of AIBS to assist the differently abled kids at Ash-Shifa orphanage which was held on the 10th of December 2018.

AIBS students shared the light of Christmas with these delighted kids with an assortment of gifts and a hoard of fun activities.

Biomedical Career Day 2018

Bio Medical Career Day 2018, which was successfully held on 29th September 2018 at CIDA auditorium was organized by the Asian Institute of Business & Science with the guidance of Provincial Department of Education – Western Province. A great number of students who have completed their Local/ International Advanced levels (Secondary Education) have participated the event with their parents.

Asian Institute of Business & Science has cordially invited few of the renowned personals in the industry to guide the students towards their higher educational goals and to create career awareness.
